Week 5 : Apple Crumble and Pecan Pie

Jacq here for week 5!

This week we did Apple Crumble and Pecan Pie !
A very classic french dessert! - Chef Jean
Firstly , we made a short crust pastry for the tart shells.
The technique and recipe used were the same as the previous tarts.
(Chocolate tart, poached pear tart)

Apple Crumble
First we made the apple mixture, which were basically apple, walnuts, raisins, sugar, salt and cinnamon.

Then we moved on to the Crumbles!
Crumble butter and flour and then add sugar! So simple!

The tart shell was then filled with the apple mixture and topped with crumbles and baked in the oven until apples are nice and soft!

Pecan Tart
For the filling, Cream butter and brown sugar.
Then add eggs in one by one, after that mix in sieved flour and pecan nuts!
You can add cinnamon powder too if you want the extra taste.

A picture of the mixture! (Yes, it doest look that fabulous but it will once it is baked !

Fill the tart shell with the mixture and put in the oven!
